Property APN 
 
License plate number, make and model of all vehicles that will haul water 
 
Check, cash or credit card
 
 Proof of residency


Prado Road Non-potable Water Well Permit 
Application Procedures:

 
1.  Applicant must apply in person at the Utilities Department Administration Office located at 879 Morro Street. PLEASE PROVIDE APN FOR PROPERTY BEING SERVED IF OUTSIDE OF CITY LIMITS.
 
2.  Applicant must have a valid form of government identification along with proof (example: tax form or utility bill) of residency and/or ownership for the property in which they are applying for a permit.
 
3.  Payment of fee is required at the time of application.
    $1,359 fee for non-city residents who live within the groundwater basin (detailed in item #2 below).
 



Rules and Guidelines:

 
1.  Permit is valid from date of purchase until July 1, 2018 and fee amount is not eligible to be prorated.

2.  Only properties in or adjacent to (as determined by the Utilities Director or designee) the San Luis Obispo Valley groundwater basin are eligible for a permit (map available for reference).

3.  Public use of the well will be discontinued July 1, 2018

4.  The property owner/permittee must be present at the time of filling the water truck or water containers.
 
 5.  The permit must be displayed on the vehicle dashboard or other prominent location during the filling process.
 
 6.  The key issued by the City for access to well is for the sole use of the permittee and shall not be shared with others not listed on the permit.
 

 7.  Public use of the well will be discontinued when the drought emergency is rescinded by the City Council.

 
 8.  Water shall be used for non-potable domestic purposes such as toilet flushing, laundry, or watering of livestock.
 
 9.  Any violation of the rules, guidelines and/or allowed uses will result in a revocation of the permit.
