DOWNTOWN CORE: Parking meters are enforced Monday through Saturday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday, 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, including holidays.

Feeding the 30 minute and the 2 hour parking meters after the allowed time is subject to an overtime parking citation.

Prohibited parking areas are red painted curbs, fire hydrants, crosswalks, handicap curb ramps, as well as parking on the opposite side of the street, in a lane of traffic, or any area that is not designated by a painted curb, sign or parking meter.

Parking Structure Access Cards allow you to park in the parking structures using a programmed access card.
Rates for all structures are $255 per quarter.

No RVs, motorcycles or trailers are allowed in the structures. Due to height limitations, loaded roof racks are discouraged from using the structures. Parking backwards is prohibited in structures and lots.


Total of 19 electric vehicle charging spaces, the most recent additions in the Marsh Street Parking Structure.

Rates: $1.50/hour for the first four hours then $4/hour after that. There is no charging time limit, and the stations are available 24/7.

To charge, download the ChargePoint app and create and account. There is no cost to create the account and payments for charging can be made through the app

New blue placards and identification cards will be issued automatically to all current placard holders. The new placards are valid once you receive it and will expire in June 30, 2021.

Effective, July 1, 2019 all placard holders MUST display their new placard when parked otherwise your vehicle is subject to citation. 

If your address has changed, you must file a change of address with DMV to ensure the placard will be mailed to your most recent address.

To file a Change of Address (DMV 14) form: download the form at, complete it, and mail it to the address on the form; or call 1-800-777-0133 to have the form mailed to you.

If you have a valid DP placard, DP plates, or DV plates, then you may park:

  • In parking spaces with the International Symbol of Access (wheelchair symbol).
  • Next to a blue curb designated for persons with disabilities parking.
  • Next to a green curb (green curbs indicate limited time parking) for as long as you wish.
  • At any on-street metered parking space at no charge.
  • In an area that indicates it requires a resident permit.

You may NOT park:

  • In spaces marked with a crosshatched pattern next to a parking space with the International Symbol of Access (wheelchair symbol). These spaces are for wheelchair and wheelchair lift access.
  • Next to red curbs
  • Next to yellow curbs, which are for commercial vehicles to load and unload passengers or freight.
  • Next to white curbs, which are for loading and unloading passengers or depositing mail in an adjacent mailbox.

Two hour meters for motorcycles are located throughout the downtown area at a reduced rate. Motorcycles are prohibited from parking in the parking structures. Long term, 10-hour metered motorcycle parking is available near the entrances to the parking structures with the first 60 minutes free. *NEW* - Motorcycle permit holders are now available for 10-hour meter permits. Contact or visit Parking Services office for details.



Parking Program FAQs

  • 10-Hour Meter Permits: Park at any 10-hour meter with a 10-hour meter permit for $60 monthly or $180 quarterly. Permits may be purchased at the Parking Services Office, 1260 Chorro St., Suite B or at the Finance Counter, 990 Palm Street. The permits are available five (5) business days prior to the first of the month and/or quarter. These permits do sell out and are sold solely on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • Proxcards: Park in one of our three parking structures with an access pass (billed quarterly). Applications are available at the Parking Services Office, 1260 Chorro St., Suite B. You must sign up in person.
