Parks and Recreation sports programs provide fundamental athletic instruction in a non-competitive environment that focuses on participation.
The Parks and Recreation Department and the SLO County YMCA have teamed up to offer basketball for boys and girls ages 5-12. Children will pick-up basic basketball skills while participating in a positive and fun atmosphere. Leagues are open for. Games begin the first weekend in January.

The Parks and Recreation Department and the SLO YMCA team up with the NFL to offer organized flag football for local youth 5- 14 years old. Children pick-up basic football skills while participating in a positive, non-contact and continuous action sport. Games are all played at Damon Garcia Sports Fields. League starts in September with Registration beginning in July.

Futsal (Indoor Soccer)
Sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department and the SLO County YMCA, Futsal is played on a small court with five players on each team with a variation of outdoor soccer rules. Open to boys and girls ages 5 -17. Teams will be divided up in grade levels. Registration begins in early January. Season begins in April.

Junior Giants 2019
Junior Giants is a non-competitive baseball program that focuses on building confidence, teamwork, integrity and leadership skills. Junior Giants, for boys and girls, uses baseball as a tool to teach and encourage positive character development. All participants and their families must attend the Coaches and Team Parent meeting on Saturday, June 1, 2017 at 9:00 am, followed by a mandatory Orientation Meeting at 10:00 am at the Ludwick Community Center (864 Santa Rosa Street). Practices will be held Mondays and Tuesdays and games will be played on Wednesdays and Fridays – all at Throop Field. No games on July 4th. Call (805) 781-7305 for more information.
