Welcome to Youth Services

The San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Youth Services Division believes that each child is unique and special. Every child is celebrated and provided the tools for success in a safe, supportive environment. All youth will have the opportunity to build long-lasting relationships with peers of all ages and participate in a non-biased curriculum. Trained staff will guide children in developing assets: tools and skills for succeeding in any situation. Whether children attend on a regular basis or just drop in on an as needed basis, they will be welcomed into the program.

💫TK Kinder Care 2026

School Year 2026-27 Transitional Kinder and Kinder Program...

The Transitional Kinder Program time encourages play, as well as intentional learning and discovery through planned centers and activities. At 2:50 the TK/Kinder program combines with afternoon Sun ‘N Fun program (grades TK-2), which means at times there are up to 56 children in the program. Families are encouraged to consider the dynamics of the large group program for their young children to determine if Sun ‘N Fun is indeed the best fit. Due to State Licensing mandates, children will not be allowed to nap in the Sun ‘N Fun room. If children need nap time, families will be called to pick up the child(ren). TK and Kinders will be walked to and from class.

Program time for the Transitional Kinder program is based off of the SLCUSD Bell Schedule and is subject to change. You will not need to sign up for an "AM" or "PM" program, but your child will only be able to attend during their assigned time- this will be based off of SLCUSD Placement
