Making our built community safer for you
The Bureau of Fire Prevention is staffed with seven full-time employees: the Fire Marshal, one Hazardous Materials Coordinator, four Fire Inspector/Investigators, and one Administrative Assistant. The Fire Marshal is responsible for administering all Bureau programs.
The bureau reviews plans and inspects new construction projects, alterations, and repairs. We provide deficiency comments and approvals in coordination with the Community Development Department.
We also provide plan check directives for project approvals. These directives indicate the required Fire or Hazardous Materials System Permits for new construction, alterations, and repairs.
