The Parks and Recreation Commission meeting for the month of July has been rescheduled from Wednesday, July 1st to Wednesday, July 8th. The agenda will be posted for review at least 72 hours before the meeting.
Based on the threat of COVID-19 as reflected in the Proclamations of Emergency issued by both the Governor of the State of California, the San Luis Obispo County Emergency Services Director and the City Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as well as the Governor’s Executive Order N-29-20 issued on March 17, 2020, relating to the convening of public meetings in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of San Luis Obispo will be holding all public meetings via teleconference. There will be no physical location for the Public to view the meeting.
The Parks and Recreation Commission (PRC) meets the first Wednesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. in the Parks and Recreation Conference Room, 1341 Nipomo Street, San Luis Obispo, California. Purpose, Membership and Terms
The PRC advises the City Council on park development and recreation programs and provides general guidance to the Parks and Recreation Department. The PRC consists of seven members, who must be residents and registered voters of the City. Members are appointed to four-year terms and are eligible for re-appointment for an additional four year term. The roster of current members, date of appointment, and date of term expiration can be reviewed on the City's Local Appointments List.
How can I express my opinion on an upcoming agenda item?
All interested persons are invited to attend Advisory Body meetings to express their views verbally, or to submit written communications to the Advisory Body members (email@example.com) to express their opinions for or against the agenda item. Citizens are encouraged to present written comments (including emails) at least one day prior to the meeting. This provides the Council and Advisory Bodies with a greater opportunity to review and consider issues and/or concerns expressed in written communications prior to a meeting. Written comments received before, at or during a Council or Advisory Body meeting are included in the public record and posted to the City’s website.
Comments submitted less than three (3) hours before a meeting will be included in the record, but will not be distributed or posted before the meeting.
NOTE: Written comments relating to an upcoming agenda item will be distributed and posted online as Agenda Correspondence, pursuant to City Policies and Procedures.
