City Applauds the Opening of Pismo Preserve
The City of San Luis Obispo today offers a hearty congratulations to our long-standing community partner, The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County, as they open their Pismo Preserve property to the general public on January 25.
In 2014, the City Council voted to support and contribute to the purchase of the land recognizing the outstanding opportunity to conserve this signature coastal property for wildlife protection, as well as hiking, biking, and equestrian uses. The Land Conservancy has created a masterpiece for the entire San Luis Obispo region to cherish and enjoy for generations to come.
At 880 acres, the Pismo Preserve offers truly exceptional and diverse recreational opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors will enjoy over 11 miles of trail traversing serene oak woodlands and coastal ridge lines with stunning panoramic vistas of the Pacific Ocean stretching from the Irish Hills to Point Sal.
