May is Bike Month! The City of San Luis Obispo is partnering with SLO Regional Rideshare and Bike SLO County to promote an active lifestyle, reducing greenhouse gases, and the camaraderie of riding with others. You can even win a new bike!
City Bike Rodeo, Saturday, May 4, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Hawthorne Elementary School, 2125 Story Street
The City of San Luis Obispo will once again host the annual Bike Rodeo, this year with a “May the Fourth” theme. The Bike Rodeo promotes the joy of riding with an emphasis on safety education. Children are instructed in bike safety techniques before taking a ride through “Safety Town.” Bike tune-ups are also conducted by local bike mechanics and helmets are checked for proper fit. End the day with a BMX stunt show and prize giveaway. Goody bags and lunch are provided to each participant. Ages 4-12, Free.
Bike to School Day is Wednesday, May 8

The Professional Association of City Employees (PACE) is hosting a “morning station” on the steps of City Hall where you can ride by to get free swag, breakfast and a chance to win prizes like a new bike!
