Post Date:02/20/2019 10:00 AM

The City Council approved an updated agreement with Achievement House, Inc. The organization has successfully operated the 11th Hole Grill at Laguna Lake Golf Course since 2011 and has played a role in daily operations.

In lieu of an annual rental, Achievement House will provide additional janitorial services to the pro-shop as well as pay a portion of the monthly sewer utility cost. Over the years, Achievement House has paid for upgrades to the facility including a more than $80,000 kitchen renovation in lieu of rent. There are four Achievement House individuals who are in a vocational training program and two job coaches operating the 11th Hole Grill.

Achievement House is a nonprofit corporation based in San Luis Obispo. For more than 60 years it has provided employment opportunities, skills development and workplace integration for developmentally disabled adults. The organization provides concessionaire services to several Central Coast communities with the 11th Hole Grill, Orange Dog Café in Atascadero, Café Bob at Camp Roberts Military Base and the Grub Hub Concessionaire Stand at the Santa Maria Transportation Center as well as numerous thrift stores across the Central Coast.

The 10-hole Laguna Lake Golf Course is open daily from 7 a.m. to sunset. The 11th Hole Grill is located inside the pro-shop, serving breakfast, lunch, and snacks from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 7 days a week.
