The City of San Luis Obispo invites community members to an upcoming Community Meeting about Citywide Single Vote and the upcoming local election.  

All registered voters, eligible voters, and others interested in the upcoming election are encouraged to join us on August 15 at 12:30 p.m. at SLO High School. Attendees can park in the main parking lot and walk to the front of the school to look for wayfinding signs to the theater, where the event will be held.  

All attendees of the meeting will get information and resources to register to vote ahead of the November 3 Municipal Election and will learn what is changing (and what is not), why the City made this change, and what this means for every voter. Presenters will include Deputy City Manager Greg Hermann, City Attorney Christine Dietrick, and City Policy and Projects Manager Natalie Harnett.  

“This change was made, in part, to help level the playing field for voter representation, which means your vote matters, now more than ever,” said City Clerk Teresa Purrington. “If you are not registered to vote yet or have any questions about the process of registering to vote, staff will be available at this meeting to help you with voter registration process ahead of the October 19 deadline.”
