Arrest for Burglary and Resisting Arrest

TYPE OF INCIDENT: Arrest for Burglary and Resisting Arrest 

PLACE OF OCCURRENCE: 3000 block Colima, Atascadero 

SUSPECT: David Hull, 55 years old, resident of Atascadero 

DETAILS: 

On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, San Luis Obispo Police Department patrol officers responded to a reported residential burglary near Carpenter and Hathway in San Luis Obispo. Through the investigation, SLOPD Detectives identified David Hull, resident of Atascadero, as a person of interest.  

On Friday, June 19, 2026, SLOPD Detectives, SLO County Probation, and the Atascadero Police Department conducted a probation compliance search of Hull’s residence and vehicles. As a result of the search, Hull was arrested for PC 459 Burglary, PC 148(a)(1) Resisting Arrest, and PC 1203.2 Probation Violation. He was booked into the SLO County Jail without further incident.  

This case is still active, along with several other recent burglary/thefts in that area that could be related.
