The City of San Luis Obispo invites all community members to attend the upcoming Code Enforcement Special Meeting to learn about current enforcement efforts, and emerging trends and topic areas.  
The City of San Luis Obispo prioritizes safe housing, robust property standards, and vibrant, livable neighborhoods. As part of this commitment, the City aims for transparency in its code enforcement processes and actively seeks resident input on topics including housing standards, fraternity and sorority land use, short‑term rentals, and property maintenance.

Community members can expect a presentation by Code Enforcement staff with the opportunity to provide feedback during public comment. 

This study session is a great opportunity for interested and impacted community members to learn earn about the City’s current code enforcement capacity, staffing, and trends and will cover: 

• Different types of cases that are received, evaluated, and addressed. 
• Community concerns and help identify which issues should be prioritized moving forward. 

Topics will include: 

• Fraternity/sorority-related land use concerns 
• Safe and healthy housing 
• Neighborhood preservation and property maintenance 
• Additional municipal code topics affecting quality of life

• Homeowners and neighborhood Realtors and property maintenance professionals
• Greek housing community members
• Anyone interested in shaping how the City prioritizes code compliance
