Per the Brown Act, otherwise known as the State's open meeting's law, the City of San Luis Obispo is required to notify the community of certain types of public proceedings. The posting of the notices here goes beyond the State's requirements to provide community members information regarding pending official actions or hearings.

FEMA Subgrant Application (Final Notice)

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has provided a final notice regarding proposed work to repair Mission Plaza Sidewalk & Retaining wall damage funded by the FEMA Public Assistance program.

Interested persons may submit comments, questions, or request a map of this specific project by writing to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Region 9, 1111 Broadway #1200, Oakland, CA 94607, or by emailing FEMA-R9-EHP@fema.dhs.gov. Comments should be sent in writing with the subject line “PW 1214 PN 726453; Mission Plaza Sidewalk & Retaining wall damage” at the above address within 15 days of the date of this notice.

FEMA received a subgrant application for City of San Luis Obispo, San Luis Obispo County, CA. Pursuant to Executive Order (EO) 11988 and 44 CFR Part 9.12, final notice is hereby given of FEMA’s intent to provide funding for this project under the Public Assistance Grant Program (PA).

The City experienced heavy rains that caused surface water flooding which damaged the retaining walls, sidewalk and concrete weir in the San Luis Obispo Creek. The city will use contracts to repair all items back to pre-disaster function. The mitigation measures consist of additional cubic yard of fill to the wall excavation and concrete wall for support. The work will occur within a floodplain and its functionally dependable to fulfill it purpose.
