Per the Brown Act, otherwise known as the State's open meeting's law, the City of San Luis Obispo is required to notify the community of certain types of public proceedings. The posting of the notices here goes beyond the State's requirements to provide community members information regarding pending official actions or hearings.

SPECIAL ADMINISTRATIVE PERMIT PUBLIC HEARING

            The City of San Luis Obispo's Zoning Hearing Officer will hold a public hearing at 2:30 p.m. or later on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, in Conference Room 1, at 919 Palm Street, to consider the following:

  1. 778, 782 & 786 Higuera St.  ARCH-0933-2025; Architectural review for a new exterior façade on the “Network Building” (778 Higuera Street – non-listed resource) and rehabilitation of portions of the “Johnson Block” (782 & 786 Higuera Street – Local Register Historic Resources) within the Downtown Historic District; review of a creek setback exception for a deck; and review of a request to remove six trees ranging from 5 to 31 inches DBH. The project is categorically exempt from environmental review pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 (Class 1 – Existing Facilities); C-D-H Zone; Leann Standish (San Luis Obispo Museum of Art), applicant.
