The trolley will operate on Thursdays from 12 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 9:10 p.m., making it easier for residents and visitors to get around Downtown SLO throughout the afternoon and evening. All rides are free, thanks to sponsorship from Know How To Go!, a program of the San Luis Obispo Council of Governments (SLOCOG) that provides transportation information for seniors and people with disabilities in SLO County.
With free rides, visitors can effortlessly hop on and off the trolley as they explore downtown museums, public art, local restaurants, and retailers. The Old SLO Trolley provides a fun, convenient, and car-free way to explore Downtown SLO, including easy access to Thursday Night Farmers Market and holiday events. The trolley is fully accessible and climate-controlled for a comfortable ride.
In addition to extended hours, the trolley route includes a stop on Nipmo near Monterey Street providing convenient access to the west end of downtown and near the new Cultural Arts District Parking Garage. With construction of the garage now complete, Routes 1B, 2A, and 2B will return to their normal service along Palm and Nipomo streets. As a result, these routes will no longer detour down Osos Street, and the temporary stop at Pismo and Nipomo will no longer be served.
SLO Transit remains committed to supporting regional transit connections that improve accessibility, reliability, and travel choices for residents and commuters throughout the Central Coast. For more information about SLO Transit services, visit www.slotransit.org.
