Grant Funding Available for 2026/2027 Cultural Events in SLO

Local nonprofits can apply now for grant funding that can be used to promote events and activities occurring between July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.

Nonprofit organizations can now apply for grant funding for events through the City of San Luis Obispo’s Cultural Arts & Community Promotions (CACP) Grant Program. The deadline to apply is March 17, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.

The City will award up to $100,000 for this grant program. Each grant recipient may use the funding for marketing and advertising of an event or activity of cultural, social, and/or recreational benefit to the residents and visitors of the City of San Luis Obispo.

To be eligible for funding, organizations must attend one of the following two informational sessions or watch a recording of the webinar (which will be posted to www.slocity.org/cacp following the virtual session on February 20). 

In-Person CACP Information Session
Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 4 p.m.
City Hall, Finance & IT Conference Room

Virtual CACP Information Session 
Friday, February 20, 2026, at 10 a.m.

Applications will be evaluated on merit-based criteria. Events or activities that are eligible for this grant funding opportunity must take place between July 1, 2026, and June 30, 2027, within the City of San Luis Obispo or directly adjacent to city limits. ABOUT THE CULTURAL ARTS & COMMUNITY PROMOTIONS GRANT
The City of San Luis Obispo’s Cultural Arts & Community Promotions (CACP) Grant Program supports nonprofit cultural, social, and recreational organizations that enhance the community’s quality of life. This grant is administered by the City’s Office of Economic Development and Tourism, with oversight from the Promotional Coordinating Committee (PCC) under City Council direction. The program provides competitive grant funding for marketing and advertising expenses that promote eligible events and activities benefiting residents and visitors. CACP recipients also receive complimentary promotional support through a partnership with the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce and are required to complete a post-event final report.
