Arrest for Felony Hit and Run

TYPE OF INCIDENT:  Arrest for Felony Hit and Run 

PLACE OF OCCURRENCE: 100 block of Crandall Way 

SUSPECT: Ishan Pandhare, 20 years old, resident of San Luis Obispo 

VICTIM: Female, age 20 

               Female, age 20 

DETAILS:  

UPDATE - February 4, 2026

After extensive investigation, additional charges were filed by the District Attorney's Office. Pandhare has been charged with the following:

VC 23153(A) - Felony Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol Causing Injury

PC 12022.7(a) - Enhancement - Great Bodily Injury - 2 counts

VC 23558 - Enhancement - Bodily Injury to More than One Victim

VC 23105(a) - Felony Reckless Driving Causing Specified Injury

PC12022.7(a) - Enhancement Great Bodily Injury

VC20001(a) - Felony Leaving the Scene of an Accident 

VC 20002(a) - Misdemeanor Hit-Run Driving

VC 22350 - Infraction Unsafe Speed

On Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 9:31 pm, San Luis Obispo Police Department received a report that two people had been hit by a car on the 100 block of Crandall Way as they were crossing the street. The driver of the vehicle did not stop and left the area. The two victims sustained major but non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital for care. 

The 100 block of Crandall Way was closed off, and the Severe Collision Investigation Detail (SCID) team was called out to continue the field investigation. Eyewitnesses described the suspect car as a dark gray Tesla Model 3 and in the early morning hours, the suspect vehicle was located on the 3000 block of McCollum. The suspect driver, 20-year-old Ishan Pandhare, was arrested for two counts of CVC 20001 – felony hit and run and booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail.
