Community members and visitors of San Luis Obispo have more reasons to indulge in culinary adventures with diverse offerings at every price point during SLO Restaurant Month in January.
Is there a local restaurant you’ve wanted to try? What about a dish you’ve been drooling over but haven’t yet tasted? SLO Restaurant Month is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
For the second year in a row, the City of San Luis Obispo is bringing back SLO Restaurant Month to celebrate local restaurants and eateries and to give diners the opportunity to indulge in diverse and delicious culinary offerings all month long. From Thursday, January 1, 2026 through Saturday, January 31, 2026, participating restaurants are offering great deals for diners, with options at every price point from prix-fixe menus to happy hour deals and discounted menu items, so there is something for everyone to enjoy, all month long!
"We’re so excited to bring SLO Restaurant Month back to the community this year,” said Whitney McDonald, SLO City Manager. “January can be a slower month for restaurants, so taking advantage of the dining specials all month long is a great way to support your favorite local restaurant and try something new!"
Diners can enter to win a gift card each time they visit a participating restaurant for the chance to win a $250 gift card to their favorite SLO Restaurant Month eatery! There will be four random winners selected each week throughout the month.
“As one of SLO’s newer restaurants, Condesa is proud to join SLO Restaurant Month as a way to welcome the community and showcase our chef-driven approach to contemporary thoughtfully prepared Mexican cuisine,” said Misty Orman, owner of Condesa.
The City is also once again partnering with longtime local broadcaster Adam Montiel to help participating establishments craft their special menus. Adam will also highlight different participating restaurants and the ins and outs of their special menus each week this January on his podcast, Up + Adam.
"I’m thrilled to again be a part of the second annual SLO Restaurant Month,” Montiel said. “Kudos to the City for celebrating the dedicated restaurant owners and teams behind the scenes. I’m looking forward to exploring these exciting menus and showcasing the amazing flavors that make SLO’s food scene truly one of a kind.”
Choosing to dine out in January, a traditionally slow period for eateries, really does make a difference. Last year, restaurants in the city had a 4% year-over-year increase in restaurant sales tax revenue during SLO Restaurant Month, outpacing both county and state trends!
