The posting of the notices here goes beyond the State's requirements to provide community members information regarding pending official actions or hearings.

The San Luis Obispo City Council invites all interested persons to attend a public hearing at their Special Meeting on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 990 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo. Meetings may be viewed remotely on Government Access Channel 20 or streamed live from the City’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/CityofSanLuisObispo. Public comment, prior to the start of the meeting, may be submitted in writing via U.S. Mail delivered to the City Clerk’s office at 990 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 or by email to emailcouncil@slocity.org.

PUBLIC HEARING ITEM:

  • The City Council will hold a public hearing to Introduce an Ordinance amending Title 10 (Vehicles & Traffic), Chapter 52 (Parking Meters & Parking Payment Centers), of the Municipal Code to remove a previously approved consider modifying on-street parking rate increase planned for July 1, 2025 rates. Council will also consider adopting a Resolution to establish new modify parking rates in all parking structures, including and off-street parking areas, that could:
    • Maintaining Modify the hourly rate;
    • Modify the daily and overnight maximum parking rate;
    • Modify monthly permit cost; 
    • Maintain or eliminate the first hour free parking subsidy; in parking structures; and
    • Elimination of Maintain or eliminate free Sunday parking;
  • Reducing the hourly rate from $3.00/hour to $2.50/hour;
  • Reducing the daily maximum rate from $12.00 per day to $10.00 per day;
  • Reducing the proxcard rate from $85/month to $45/month.

If you challenge the proposed project in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the City Council at, or prior to, the public hearing.
