SUMMARY:Climate Action Plan Community Workshop
DESCRIPTION:<div ltr="" scxw257215878="" bcx0"=""><p scxw257215878="" bcx0"="" paraid="1877583579" paraeid="{1fb69d83-5b0d-4eb9-9854-67a0d443aea4}{3}">For decades, San Luis Obispo residents have led community-driven efforts to conserve natural lands, clean air and water, and improve human health. Following in their predecessor’s footsteps, residents continue to make climate action a top priority, advocating for equitable, adaptable, and inclusive solutions to protect the environment. Through these efforts, the City Council officially adopted the Climate Action Plan for Community Recovery (CAP) back in 2020, with the goal of reaching carbon neutrality by 2035.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p></div><div ltr="" scxw257215878="" bcx0"=""><p scxw257215878="" bcx0"="" paraid="242701474" paraeid="{1fb69d83-5b0d-4eb9-9854-67a0d443aea4}{50}">With the help of the community, the City has made substantial progress on advancing climate action through restoration projects, greenbelt conservation, tribal-led stewardship, biking infrastructure, waste-management programs, and so much more.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p></div><div ltr="" scxw257215878="" bcx0"=""><p scxw257215878="" bcx0"="" paraid="1653297610" paraeid="{1fb69d83-5b0d-4eb9-9854-67a0d443aea4}{73}">The 2027 CAP update is an opportunity for City residents to voice their ideas around natural solutions, green buildings, clean energy systems, transportation, and other pathways to help us achieve our goal of carbon neutrality. Your voice has the power to guide the next several years of climate action in San Luis Obispo, which is why we hope you’ll join us on July 22nd from 6:00pm to 7:30pm, at the Library Community Room, to express your thoughts, concerns, and ideas.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p></div>
