The Belonging Project

Join us for the first session of The Belonging Project, a free series of public activities, cultural events, and collaborative partnerships created to build understanding and create a more connected San Luis Obispo.

TOPIC:  The Heart of a Community Is Knowing Our Neighbors: Health, Language, and Culture

SPEAKERS: Demetrio Morales-Salazar and Leo Ontiveros
Health Equity Team, County of San Luis Obispo Public Health Department

WHEN:  February 25, 2025 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

WHERE: Ludwick Community Center, 864 Santa Rosa Street in San Luis Obispo

WHAT: Join us for this session to better understand how language and lived experience, particularly within the Mixteco communities, can affect interactions with public systems and the health care industry. This event will highlight how prioritizing language access and cultural understanding can create better access, build public trust, and improve health outcomes. Health care providers, advocates, public service employees, and more will discover how to create cross-sector partnerships that will strengthen inclusive, responsive services for all.

REGISTER: This event is free and registration is not required. However, space is limited. Save your spot by registering online.
