The annual Día de los Muertos festival in San Luis Obispo, hosted by the Latino Outreach Council at Mission Plaza, is a free, community-centered celebration that honors deceased loved ones.
The event includes traditional elements like altars called ofrendas, performances by Aztec and folklorico dancers, mariachi music, a costume contest, and vendors selling food and crafts. It also features family-friendly activities like face painting and Latin dancing.
Hosted by the Latino Outreach Council, which is celebrating 31 years on the central coast! LOC was established in 1994 to serve as a community network, building bridges between resources and the Latino community. We are committed to supporting and offering community programs and events to educate and raise cultural awareness in our county and to enhance opportunities for the Latino/Hispanic community to participate in the affairs of our region.
