Registration for Care 2019-2020
Please note, the process has changed to accommodate the families we serve.
Priority is given to families in the following order:
1) Qualifying returning families (currently enrolled, a list of qualifying families will be available at your program site or the Parks and Recreation office on March 20. Call 781-7300)
2) Incoming Kindergarten or TK Families
3) New families ( not currently enrolled, 1st-6th Grade Families)
4) All families from the previous list who missed their registration period.
For qualifying families who are currently enroll in Club STAR or Sun ‘N Fun, you will be able to register for care for 2019-20 school year at YOUR PROGRAM Site during designated hours.

The Youth Services Division believes that each child is unique and special! Every child is celebrated and provided tools for success in a safe and supportive environment.
Throughout the year, Youth Services offers a variety of programs for school-aged children:
- Before and After-School Programs: Sun 'N Fun and Club STAR
- Spring Break Camp
- Summer Day Camps
- Family Events
- Early Bird Registration
The City of San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Department is committed to providing recreational opportunities to all ability levels. Sun ‘N Fun offers children a safe place to play, while providing opportunities for children to learn new skills and foster relationships with caring adults. Professional and highly trained staff members provide engaging curriculum, quality care and an active daily schedule. Each program must meet minimum enrollment. Sun ‘N Fun accommodates children at the following local elementary schools: Bishop’s Peak, C.L. Smith, Hawthorne, Pacheco, and Sinsheimer Elementary Schools. Sun ‘N Fun will not be offered at the Teach School site. Sun ‘N Fun is closed on all legal and school holidays. Families may choose to register for monthly OR hourly options – may not register for both. Once registered for one option, families may only switch with Supervisor’s permission – 1 time per school year.
Program fees include care during minimum days/conference week.
*If minimum enrollment is not met for each program time, program will be cancelled and refund given.
Open registration begins August 3 and is on-going thereafter.

COST $60/one-time, per child registration fee
A minimum of 10 hours deposit required for each program/child.
Monthly: $105/month – Morning
$190/month – After-School October – April monthly payments
$275/month – After-School Aug/Sep and May/June payments
$170/Month –Transitional Kinder Program (Bishop’s Peak and C.L Smith only)

Sun 'N Fun and Club STAR
Before- and After-School Programs
Sun ‘N Fun (a state-licensed drop-in program) for TK-6th graders and Club STAR (Students Taking Active Responsibility) for 3rd-6th graders are located on-campus at five elementary schools within the City: Bishop's Peak, C.L. Smith, Hawthorne, Pacheco and Sinsheimer. Daily curriculum includes a variety of developmentally appropriate indoor and outdoor activities and experiences, homework assistance, nutritional mid-morning and afternoon snacks, and group times. Enrollment is on a first-come/first-serve basis and is limited by state licensing capacity mandates.
