Downtown BIPOC Business Walk

  • Date: 04/12/2025 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
  • Introduction: Join us for one of the many workshops in the Community Belonging Series, hosted by the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and its partners!

Join us on the BIPOC* Business walk and get the chance to personally meet the owners behind a few of downtown’s exciting new businesses. In this follow up to our Celebrating Inclusive Business Practices workshop, we’re bringing you directly to the businesses in person so you can touch, see, or taste the vibrancy their teams are bringing to our community. Take a stroll with us, learn more about why it’s so important to buy local, and get some treats and samples along the way!
This event is part of an ongoing collaboration for the Community Belonging Series between the SLO Chamber's Businesses Supporting Business partners, the City of SLO Diversity Equity and Inclusion department, and Cal Poly's Office of University Diversity and Inclusion.
This is your chance to learn how you can celebrate diversity, uplift and support connections across our community, and help our economy thrive.
The businesses and representatives sharing their story are:
- Feben Teffera, Ebony SLO
- Chris Patterson , CJ’s BBQ Smokehosue
- Adam Kemp, Thrifty Beaches
- Pedro Arias Lopez, Cresencio Hernandez Villar, Sara McGrath, Corazon Cafe
- Jonathan Ventura, Helena Cortes, Buen Dia
