Traffic Safety Unit
The goal of the
Traffic Safety Unit is to use education, engineering and enforcement
to increase traffic safety in San Luis Obispo. Input from the
community is important to reveal problem areas.
The unit is
currently staffed with one Sergeant and four officers who work from
fully marked police motorcycles.
Weekly Traffic Enforcement
Focus Area
The department
will be focusing on speed and red light violations on Madonna Road
this week. This roadway has a high volume of traffic, and it is
important for all to abide by the traffic laws to increase safety of
the vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians.
Education:
Do you ride a moped, motorcycle, or scooter?
Officer Gallo, who is a member of the Traffic Safety Unit,
complied a reference sheet to summarize the laws governing two and
three wheeled vehicles from the California Vehicle Code .
