enthusiasts looking for a quality team, look no further! San Luis Obispo provides its community members with excellent
opportunities for a healthy approach to life. The City of San Luis Obispo currently offers Winter Basketball
and three seasons of Adult Softball. Leagues for each sport run ten weeks and registration fees
cover facility and equipment expenses as well as player’s insurance.
Softball
Softball for all levels is offered in Spring, Summer and Fall.
Spring Softball starts in March, Summer leagues begin in June and Fall
play commences in September ending in November. All games are played
at Santa Rosa and El Chorro Softball Parks, and game times run
for one hour and five minutes. League fees vary based on a team’s status as
a returning or new team, and all teams are considered new teams each
calendar year.

Summer Softball 2008 - Standings
An
online
survey is available to make comments about the softball program,
all answers are confidential and are used to help improve the
program. Umpire evaluation
forms in PDF format are also available for download.
Basketball
Winter basketball runs January 22, 2008 through March 26, 2008.
Leagues of five on five are offered including an over 40
league. Games are
currently played at San Luis Obispo Senior High School.
Games are two twenty minute halves.
All teams are considered "new" each calendar year.
Registration begins January 7, 2008 and continues through January 11,

Youth
Sports programs are instructional
and organized athletic activities for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.
Volleyball, Track, Basketball, Flag Football, and Baseball/Softball programs provide
fundamental sports instruction in a non-competitive environment that focuses on
participation.

Coed Volleyball - Fall
Bump, set, and spike in a non-competitive environment. Girls and boys in grades 4th
through 6th are taught the fundamentals of volleyball from enthusiastic coaches; while
playing one game per week. This program serves beginner and advanced players. Be sure to
attend the instructional clinic during the first week of practice.
Youth Basketball - Winter
Once again, this years Youth Basketball season is presented
through the partnership of the SLO Parks & Recreation Department and the
SLO County YMCA. Leagues are as follows: 5 year olds - coed, 6 & 7 year olds - coed, 8 &
9 year old girls, 8 & 9 year old boys, 10-12 year old girls, and 10-12
year old boys. Games are played once per week. Schedules are
as follows:

Indoor Soccer (Futsal
Version) - Spring
Sponsored by the Parks & Recreation
Department and the SLO County YMCA, Futsal is played on a small court
with five players on each team with a variation of outdoor soccer
rules. This program for children in grades 1-12 is offered
in May and June with games
on Friday evenings; practices are held at local schools
once a week.
Registration for
the Futsal Indoor Soccer program includes a mandatory parent meeting
to complete registration for the program by participating in a half hour
presentation of the PAYS (Parent Association for Youth Sports) Program.

Tee Youth Golf - Fall through Spring
Youth, ages 7-17, are eligible to participate in the First

offers the following sports programs for 7th and 8th graders during the school year. All
sports programs are offered to students at any skill level. Everyone who registers for the
program is put on a team. Registration is taken at Laguna Middle School during the
lunch hour the week before the program starts or at the Parks &
