GENERAL
INFORMATION
-
The Irish Hills
were named by Irish immigrants who found the hills to be reminiscent
of home.
-
Roads were made
during WWII with the purpose of looking for minerals. The mine was
for manganese (used to cool iron ore in the metal making process).
-
The house at
Madonna Trailhead is an old school house that was once the center of
the Irish Hills School District. The Irish Hills School District
merged with the Laguna District in 1943.
-
The property was
acquired by the City in 1998-2001.
