is the desire of the Parks & Recreation Department to provide a

Registration Days
for the 2008-2009 Sun ‘N Fun and S.T.A.R. School Year at the Parks and
Recreation Department, 1341 Nipomo Street
A NEW registration
strategy is being implemented for the Sun ‘N Fun and S.T.A.R.
2008-2009 school year programs. All registration days will be held at
the Parks and Recreation Administrative Offices at 1341 Nipomo Street.
Registration packets are available starting July 21, 2008. Early
registration will NOT be accepted, NO EXCEPTIONS. Families with
multiple children at multiple sites must attend all applicable
registration days. If a child is to be registered by someone other
than a parent/guardian, a completed registration packet with all
signatures from the parent/guardian must be presented at the time of
registration. Registration is accepted on a first come, first served
basis until program reaches capacity. Registration for school sites
will be taken on the designated date ONLY. Open registration for all
programs begins August 11 and is on-going thereafter at the City of
San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Administrative Offices, 1341
Nipomo Street.

Little Rec'ers Pre-School Program
Hawthorne Elementary School, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Little Rec'ers focuses on the developmental needs, characteristics and
individual experiences of children ages 3-5 (potty-trained).
Educated and well-trained staff present a progressive curriculum that
promotes a love of learning, fun and play. Registration begins
no earlier than August 11, 2008 (registration packets available
July 21, 2008). Fee is
$40.00 per child. Cost is $200.00/month full time and
$130.00/month part time (Mon.,Wed., Fri., or Tues. and Thurs.)
Mitchell Park
Parks & Recreation
Commission/Mission Park Master Plan Staff Report
On Wednesday, April 2, 2008, the Parks & Recreation Commission will
review the proposed amendment to the Mitchell Park Master Plan
removing the area behind the Senior Center designated for a
specialty garden and replacing it with a parking lot. The
meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber of City
Hall, 990 Palm Street.
Change in Mitchell Park Master Planning Process and Schedule
Due to public interest, the proposed amendment to the Master Plan
to allow for a parking lot behind the Senior Center shall
receive added environmental review in order to more fully
consider the issues raised by the Cultural Heritage Committee. Please
