• All City fields are OPEN for normal permitted use.
   

  In any climate, if any of the following conditions are present
  please stay off the turf:
  It there are standing puddles of water on the field
  If the footing is unsure or slippery
  If the ground is water-logged and “squishy”
  If the grass can be pulled out of the ground easily
   

The Parks and Recreation Department and Public Works Department work collaboratively to program and maintain the City's parks and facilities.

Parks Maintenance Division
In the City of San Luis Obispo, the Parks Maintenance Division of the Publics Works Department is responsible for the upkeep of 500+ acres of parks, sports facilities and landscaped areas in the city. The division works hard to provide the citizens with quality spaces to relax, recreate and rejuvenate.
