Emerson Community Garden
 

San Luis Obispo has four community gardens sites with over 100 plots available for City residents to lease.


 

  • Laurel Lane has 16 plots and is located next to Fire Station #3 near Augusta Street intersection.

  • Broad Street has 17 plots and is located on the North end of Broad Street, between Lincoln Street and the Highway 101 southbound  on-ramp.

  • Emerson Park has 38 plots and is located on the corner of Nipomo and Pismo Streets, next to the City of San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Administrative Offices.

  • Rotary Garden at Meadow Park contains 40 plots. It is located at the west end of Meadow Park with the nearest access on South Street. More information and photos coming soon!

Prospective Gardeners

The City of San Luis Obispo community garden plots are available to City residents on a first-come, first-served basis. The annual fee a $24 base rate plus a $.03 assessment charge per square foot. All garden sites currently have waiting lists for plots. 

If you are interested in placing your name on a waiting list please contact Amy Voorhies at the Parks and Recreation Administrative Offices at     (805) 781-7069.

Current Gardeners

Seed exchange meetings are for local gardeners interested in discussing  seed saving methods. Meetings are held monthly across SLO County. Please contact Amy Voorhies at (805) 781-7069 for more information.
