Batting Cages at Sinsheimer Park

Batting CagesThe batting cages at Sinsheimer Park have been open to the public since March 2003, courtesy of a donation to the City by the San Luis Obispo Youth Sports Association, San Luis Obispo Babe Ruth Baseball, San Luis Obispo Cal Ripken Baseball, San Luis Obispo/Los Osos Girls Softball Association and San Luis Obispo Little League. 

The cages are located behind San Luis Obispo Baseball Stadium's right field fence and can be reached by taking the main park pathway between Stockton Softball Field and the Stadium.  Vehicle access is not allowed.

Baseball and softball players can utilize the cages for practice hitting.  A partner is needed to feed balls.

March 5 - June 17
Sunday - Saturday
4:00 - 7:00 pm

June 18 - August 26
Sunday - Saturday
2:00 - 7:00 pm

August 27 - November 9

Costs for use of the cages are:

  Resident Non-Resident
15 Minutes $3.10 $4.15
 
30 Minutes $5.15 $7.75
 
60 Minutes $8.25 $12.40
 

All batters under the age of 18 must have a waiver filled out by a parent/guardian prior to participation.  Waivers are available at the cages. All participants are required to wear a helmet while in the cages.

Up to 2 cages may be reserved by coaches with Cal Ripkin, Babe Ruth, or SLO Girls Softball team by calling the cages 24 hours in advance during the hours of operations.  Same day reservations can be made by the public by calling the cages after opening.
