What's New in Natural Resources?

Natural Resources Protection Program

In 2007 the Program....

  • Accepted a donated transfer of 315 acres of land from the Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County.
  • Accepted the donation of a Conservation Easement covering 71 acres of land from John and Carole King at the Margarita Area near Prado Road.
  • Managed several major mitigation projects.
  • Began construction of the Bob Jones Trail.
  • Completed the Johnson Ranch Conservation Plan.

Expectations for 2008....

  • Continued progress on several significant land transactions.
  • Continued enhancement of City Entryways.
  • Continued Development of the Bob Jones Trail.
  • Stenner Springs Conservation Plan.
  • Tank Farm Remediation and Development.
  • Ongoing mitigation efforts.
