City Adopts 2011-12 Budget

On June 21, the City Council adopted a two-year Financial Plan and 2011-12 budget, which directs City expenditures. This budget responds to the changing economic environment while focusing on long-term planning that will sustain the City well into the future.

The Financial Plan includes work in accordance with the Council's four Major City Goals: Economic Development, Preservation of Essential Services and Fiscal Health, Neighborhood Wellness, and Traffic Congestion Relief. In addition, the Council adopted priorities for the use of Measure Y funds (the local half-cent sales tax) to reflect input received from the community.

The Economic Development Major City Goal prioritizes development and adoption of an Economic Development Strategic Plan by July 2012. Stakeholder input will be welcomed and facilitated as part of the process.
