Planning Commission Meeting Update

CALL TO ORDER/PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 

ROLL CALL:        Commissioners Carlyn Christianson, Alice Loh, Andrea Miller, Orval Osborne, Andrew Carter, Chairperson Michael Boswell and Vice-Chair Jim Aiken.

Commissioners Boswell and Christianson were absent 

ACCEPTANCE OF AGENDA: Commissioners or staff may modify the order of items. 

Agenda was accepted as presented. 

PUBLIC COMMENT:   

There was no public comment

PUBLIC HEARINGS: 

1.        1204 Iris Street.   ABAN 125-05: Request an abandonment of a portion of Ruth Street; R-2 zone; Thomas Preston, applicant. (Phil Dunsmore) 

The item was continued without discussion to the September 28^th PC hearing. 

2.        City Wide. TA/ER 153-04: Proposed comprehensive amendment to the City’s subdivision regulations and environmental review; City of San Luis Obispo, applicant. (Phil  Dunsmore) 

Staff introduced the new draft to the Commission and discussed the primary components of the update. Commissioners commented on proposed lot sizes, the condominium regulations, street standards, parkland dedications, flag lot standards, and the font and style of the document. Commissioners Osborne, Aiken and Carter asked staff to return to the Commission with a comprehensive analysis of City lot sizes in order to consider potential reduction of residential minimum lot sizes. Commissioner Osborne felt that the residential lot size minimums should be reduced. The item was continued to a date uncertain.
