Planning Commission Meeting Update

August 24, 2011                    Wednesday                              6:00 p.m.

CALL TO ORDER/PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 

ROLL CALL:      Commissioners Michael Draze, John Larson, Eric Meyer, Airlin Singewald, Charles Stevenson, Vice-Chairperson Mary Whittlesey, and Chairperson Michael Multari

Commissioner Singewald was absent.

ACCEPTANCE OF AGENDA:

MINUTES:  Minutes of August 10, 2011, were approved as amended.

PUBLIC COMMENT:  There was no public comment.

PUBLIC HEARINGS:

1.     Downtown.  GPI 83-07:  Continued review of draft code amendments to the Residential Parking Standards for the Downtown Core to implement General Plan policy; City of San Luis Obispo – Community Development Dept., applicant.  (Phil Dunsmore)

RECOMMENDATION:  Adopt a resolution that recommends the City Council approve an amendment to MC 17.16.060 to implement General Plan Policy in support of downtown residential parking.

ACTION:  Moved by Commr. Meyer, seconded by Commr. Stevenson, to recommend the approval of municipal code amendments to the City Council (6:0).

2.     City-Wide.  GPA 8-11:  Review of amendments to the Municipal Code Title 17:  Zoning Regulations amending screening requirements for trash, green waste, and recycling receptacles; City of San Luis Obispo – Community Development Dept., applicant.  (Brian Leveille)

RECOMMENDATION:  Recommend the City Council adopt the proposed amendments to Title 17 (Zoning Regulations) of the Municipal Code.

ACTION:  Moved by Commr. Draze, seconded by Commr. Stevenson, to adopt the proposed resolution (5:1).

COMMENT AND DISCUSSION:

3.    Staff

a. Agenda Forecast:  Doug Davidson provided the agenda forecast for September noting the cancellation of the September 14th meeting.

4.    Commission:  Commissioner Stevenson encouraged the Commissioners to attend “The Taste of San Luis Obispo” on September 14th. 

ADJOURNMENT – The meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
