Planning Commission Meeting Update

April 12, 2006                         Wednesday                                7:00 p.m.

CALL TO ORDER/PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 

OATHS OF OFFICE:  Swearing in new Commissioner Charles Stevenson. 

Assistant City Attorney Christine Dietrick acting as Deputy City Clerk administered the oath of office to Charles Stevenson. 

ROLL CALL:    Commissioners Carlyn Christianson, Charles Stevenson, Peter Brown, Andrew Carter, Jason McCoy, Vice Chairperson Andrea Miller, and one vacancy.  

All of the Commissioners were present. 

ELECTION:        Election of Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson 

Andrea Miller was elected as the Chairperson and Carlyn Christianson as Vice-Chairperson. 

ACCEPTANCE OF AGENDA: 

The order of the agenda was not modified. 

MINUTES:  Minutes of March 22, 2006. Approve or amend. 

The minutes were accepted as submitted. 

PUBLIC COMMENT:   

There was no public comment other than on regular agenda items. 

PUBLIC HEARINGS: 

1.   1147 Iris Street & 1148 George Street.  MS and ER 103-05; Consideration of a tentative parcel map to allow one lot to be split into two, with exceptions to lot size and depth, and environmental review; Ed and Sandra Howe, applicant. (Tyler Corey) 

On a 6-0 vote, the Commission approved the tentative parcel map with exceptions, based on findings, and subject to conditions and code requirements, and approved a Negative Declaration of environmental impact   Todd Smith, Cannon Associates, spoke on behalf of the applicants in support of the request. The Commission found the proposal consistent with the lot pattern for the neighborhood.

Interim Deputy Director, Development Review, Pamela Ricci presented an agenda forecast of upcoming projects.

The meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m .to the regular meeting of the Planning Commission scheduled for Wednesday April 26, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber of City Hall, 990 Palm Street.
