Planning Commission Meeting Update

February 27, 2013                  Wednesday                             6:00 p.m.


ROLL CALL:      Commissioners John Larson, Michael Multari, Airlin Singewald, Charles Stevenson, Vice-Chairperson Eric Meyer, and Chairperson Michael Draze

Commissioner John Fowler was absent.  Vice-Chair Meyer arrived late.


MINUTES:  Minutes of February 13, 2013, will be presented at the March 13th meeting. 


Mila Vujovich-La Barre expressed a need to conduct an EIR for Prado Road and hoped that any park land offered by the Chevron project would be located in closer proximity to the existing sports fields. 

Rosemary Wilvert spoke in support of Ms. Vujovich-LaBarre's comments.


1.    City-Wide.  GPI 15-12:  Land Use & Circulation Elements Update:  Status update and discussion of neighborhood boundaries and guiding principles; City of San Luis Obispo – Community Development Dept., applicant.  (Kim Murry)Continued to the March, 13th 2013 Planning Commission meeting.

RECOMMENDATION:  Continue item to March 13th Planning Commission meeting.

ACTION:  Moved by Multari/Stevenson to continue the Land Use and Circulation Elements update to the March 13th Planning Commission meeting. (5:0).


2.    Staff

a.  ALUP Update – Kim Murry presented information regarding the Airport Land Use Commission efforts to update the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport Land Use Plan.

b.  Agenda Forecast – Kim Murry provided the agenda forecast for upcoming meetings.

c.  Other items – Community Development Director Derek Johnson provided an update to the Commission regarding the budget process and the identified Major City Goals work programs.  He also highlighted an upcoming community workshop on March 4th.

3.    Commission – Commissioner Multari asked when the Leitcher Apartment project would be considered by City Council.

ADJOURNMENT – Meeting adjourned at 6:52 p.m.
