Planning Commission Meeting Update

CALL TO ORDER/PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Singewald, Charles Stevenson, Vice-Chairperson Mary Whittlesey, and
Chairperson Michael Multari
ACCEPTANCE OF AGENDA:
Minutes of December 8, 2010, were
approved as presented.
Barry Vanderkellen of SLO Community Foundation announced that they
are in the process of acquiring the property at 550 Dana Street to
house their offices. If successful, the building will also have
meeting rooms on the first floor that will be available for use by
PUBLIC HEARINGS: There were no public hearing items.
COMMENT AND DISCUSSION:
Doug Davidson provided an agenda forecast for the
January 26th meeting to include review of the Skate Park
Use Permit and a rezone and General Plan amendment for the property
at 313 South Street.
Workscope and Prop. 84 grant funding for updating the Land Use
Element and Circulation Element
Kim Murry provided a brief presentation of the
Proposition 84 grant objectives and the next steps that need to
occur before an update to the Land Use and Circulation Elements can
a. Review state
of Climate Action Plans in California and Nationwide
Commissioner Boswell provided an overview of Climate
Action planning efforts including types of plans (visionary versus
implementation); common content of plans; need for long-term
commitment in order to see results; monitoring; and approaches to
discussed the Community Budget Forum held the previous evening.
Chair Multari expressed concern that actions taken at the state
level will severely impact our local economy due to the high
incidence of state employment in the area and that economic recovery
will be further in the future than is being characterized.
Chair Multari asked for clarification of “lots for sale” signs at
the corner of Los Osos Valley Road and Foothill. Staff committed to
follow up with County staff for further information.
