Orcutt Area Specific Plan (Link to Key Documents)

The Orcutt Area is located along the southwestern edge of the city limits of San Luis Obispo.  The Orcutt Area encompasses 230 acres of land at the base of Righetti Hill.  The City's Residential Growth Management Ordinance allocates 1,000 residential dwellings to the Orcutt Area for phased development between 2008 and 2019.  The City's General Plan requires that a specific plan be approved for the whole area before any part of it is annexed.

In December, 2007, the City of San Luis Obispo, in conjunction with Orcutt Area property owners, produced and published the Hearing Draft of the Orcutt Area Specific Plan (OASP).  At the same time, the City published a draft program Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the project.  The OASP and DEIR will be considered by various advisory bodies and the City Council during 2008.

This page is intended to serve as a repository for documents related to processing and decision making for the specific plan and DEIR.  Upcoming meeting dates and other relevant news will also be posted below.

Next Meeting

The next Planning Commission meeting is schedule for Wednesday, June 25, 2008.  The Commission will discuss Chapters Eight and Nine and the appendices of the draft Orcutt Area Specific Plan.  The meeting will begin at 7:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers on 990 Palm Street.  (Agenda Report.)
