PUBLIC COMMENT:  At this time, people may address the committee about items not on the agenda. Items raised are generally referred to the staff and, if action by the committee is necessary, may be scheduled for a future meeting. 

The action of the CHC is typically a recommendation to another advisory body or City Council and therefore, is not final and cannot be appealed.  However, actions pertaining to historic significance are final unless appealed to the City Council within 10 days of the action.  Any person aggrieved by a decision of the Committee may file an appeal with the City Clerk. Appeal forms are available in the City Clerk’s office, or on the City’s website (slocity.org). The fee for filing an appeal is $100, and must accompany the appeal documentation. 

PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS: 

1.   800 Palm Street.  ARC 187-05; Conceptual review of a new retail and office building in conjunction with Ah Louis store property; C-D-H zone; Dr. William Watson, applicant.  (Phil Dunsmore) 

2.   497 Islay Street.  CHC 229-05; Request for a Mills Act Contract for the Historic Vollmer House; R-2 zone; Steve & Laurie Butler, applicants.  (Jeff Hook) 

DISCUSSION ITEMS: 

3.   Citywide.  CHC 94-04; Consideration of properties for possible historic nomination; Cultural Heritage Committee, applicant.  (Arleen Cardenas)
