City Council Meetings

The City Council holds regular meetings at 6:00 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month in the Council Chamber of City Hall, 990 Palm Street. Other meetings or study sessions are held as needed.

A public comment period is scheduled at the beginning of each meeting for citizens to comment on City issues not on the agenda.

All Council meetings are televised live and videotaped for later playback.  San Luis Obispo residents can watch the meetings on Charter Communication Channel 20.

If you wish to speak concerning any agenda item when it is under consideration, please fill out a speaker slip before the meeting and give it to the City Clerk. When the Mayor calls your name, please come forward to the audience microphone and state your name and city of residence for the record. Public testimony for or against an item is limited to three minutes. Organization and consultant presentations are limited to ten minutes. Written comments regarding scheduled agenda items are always encouraged.

You are encouraged to call the Office of the City Clerk (781-7100) if you have any questions about City Council meetings.
