Cal Poly Master Plan and Slack and Grand Housing EIR's released
The Cal Poly Master Plan Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the Master Plan 2035 Project and Slack and Grand Residential Neighborhood are available for public review at:
The Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) evaluates both the Master Plan 2035 for the Cal Poly main campus, and the Slack and Grand residential neighborhood component of the Master Plan.
The Master Plan provides guidance for facilities and improvements over the next two decades needed to support a future enrollment of 22,500 full-time equivalent (FTE) (25,000 headcount) students by 2035. The current 2001 Master Plan accommodates 17,500-full-time equivalent (FTE) students, or 20,000 headcount, enrollment level at the University, as of the 2015/2016 academic year. The Slack and Grand Residential Neighborhood project is on a 22-acre site northeast of the intersection of Grand Avenue and Slack Street. The residential neighborhood includes 420 rental units in two- to five-story apartments buildings in a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units.
A public meeting to hear comments on the Draft EIR will be held on December 6, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will take place on the Cal Poly campus in the Chumash Auditorium in the Julian A. McPhee University Union (Building 65, Room 204).
Public comment closes by 5:00 pm on December 20, 2017.
