Recommendation to Close Prado Road Non-Potable Well
In June 2015, the City Council declared a drought emergency. As part of this action, The City Council also adopted a resolution establishing guidelines and a permit fee for the use of the Corporation Yard well. The associated Council Agenda Report noted that when the drought emergency is rescinded, the well will be shut down and would no longer be available for use to property owners either inside or outside the city limits. The current permits expire on June 30, 2017.
From the initial permit application form, City staff has emphasized to those applying for the permit that "Public use of the well will be discontinued when the drought emergency is rescinded by the City Council."
Please be advised that the San Luis Obispo City Council will be hearing this item as part of the rescission of the drought emergency on June 20, 2017.
The City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at 6:00 pm in the City Hall Council Chambers, 990 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo, California. The City Council may also discuss other hearings or business items before or after the item concerning well permits.
Reports for this meeting will be available for review in the City Clerk’s Office and online at www.slocity.org on Wednesday, June 13, 2017.
